Position: Lead Procurement Specialist

Position Overview:

The Lead Procurement Specialist will oversee a team of procurement professionals responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing service contracts and subcontractors for facilities maintenance on a national scale. This role will report directly to the Senior Category Manager - Interior Procurement and will collaborate closely with Account Managers and Operations teams as part of project management initiatives. Key responsibilities include managing high-profile service accounts, leading sourcing events, delegating responsibilities, ensuring compliance with processes, and achieving budgetary and timeline objectives. The Specialist will also negotiate and review contracts, implement operational improvements, and enhance the overall profitability of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the planning, execution, and communication of all sourcing projects and initiatives. Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress to ensure compliance with deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Account Management to identify suitable contractors, ensuring that all locations have the necessary service provider contracts. Negotiate terms and rates with strategic partners and oversee the work of assigned procurement professionals. Foster strong relationships internally and externally and engage in cross-functional meetings and coaching sessions with service providers. Build a network of preferred vendors.
  • Implement and communicate standardized processes and procedures to the team and the organization. Work alongside the Senior Category Manager and Director of Procurement to identify and apply process efficiencies.
  • Support employee development through training initiatives aimed at enhancing current job performance and preparing for future roles and responsibilities.
  • Engage in sourcing activities as needed to meet project deadlines and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five to seven years of relevant procurement experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
