Role Summary
In this role, you will operate with limited supervision to develop, oversee, and assess an existing portfolio of dairy, crop, and agribusiness client relationships within our service area. While the primary focus will be on agricultural clients, establishing new relationships in agribusiness, commercial sectors, and commercial real estate is also encouraged.
Your responsibilities will include managing clients who utilize various financial services offered by State Bank Financial, including Credit, Treasury Management, Investments, Insurance, Merchant Processing, Retail Banking, Concierge Banking, and Card products.
The Agricultural Relationship Manager will be tasked with profiling and cross-selling financial services to both existing customers and potential clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive loan growth through new client acquisition and management of the customer portfolio, aiming to enhance market share while retaining existing relationships.
- Ensure compliance with the bank's credit policies, procedures, and business strategies in managing portfolio administration and risk for each client relationship.
- Evaluate client applications to determine credit needs, analyze financial data for credit requests, and present recommendations for suitable financial structures through the bank's loan approval process.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of FSA and USDA programs and services.
- Foster a collaborative relationship with local FSA offices.
- Utilize government programs as necessary to fulfill customer needs and adhere to Bank underwriting criteria.
- Engage in business development initiatives to attract additional profitable business for the Bank.
- Build and maintain professional community relations to enhance the Bank's visibility and create new business opportunities, while also focusing on personal development.
- Participate in Bank committees as required.
- Continuously update knowledge and pursue professional development through internal and external training opportunities.
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Prior experience in banking, agriculture, and/or sales is highly desirable.
- A foundational understanding of agriculture and agricultural lending is beneficial.
- Basic computer and technical skills are necessary.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding customer and Bank information.
- Capability to effectively manage time pressures and stress that may vary based on activity levels.

The Agricultural Relationship Manager will travel for client visits and work in an office environment. Work hours may vary to accommodate customer needs. The role involves regular mental and visual concentration for computer usage and the assimilation of complex information. The position requires alternating between walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds of supplies and documents throughout the work shift. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel using personal transportation are required.
Equipment Utilized
The role involves operating a personal computer in a Windows environment for tasks such as word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet/intranet access, and other bank-specific software. Additionally, a variety of office equipment including computers, printers, copy/fax machines, and multi-line telephones will be used.
