Position Overview

Are you looking to advance your career with a financial institution dedicated to the agriculture and agribusiness industry? State Bank Financial is in search of an Agricultural Banker focused on expanding a portfolio of agricultural enterprises while also fostering personal career growth.

Role Summary

With limited supervision, the Agricultural Relationship Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing a portfolio of dairy, crop, and agribusiness client relationships. While the primary focus will be on agricultural clients, the role also encourages the establishment of new relationships within agribusiness, commercial, and commercial real estate sectors.

Clients may utilize a range of financial services offered by State Bank Financial, including Credit, Treasury Management, Investments, Insurance, Merchant Processing, Retail Banking, Concierge Banking, and Card products.

The Ag Relationship Manager will actively profile and cross-sell financial services to both existing customers and potential clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive loan growth through new client acquisition and management of the existing customer portfolio to enhance market share.
  2. Ensure compliance with the bank's credit policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines in managing customer relationships.
  3. Assess client applications to identify credit needs, analyze financial data for credit requests, and present recommendations for appropriate financial solutions.
  4. Maintain knowledge of FSA and USDA programs and services.
  5. Foster relationships with local FSA offices.
  6. Utilize government programs as necessary to meet customer needs and adhere to Bank underwriting criteria.
  7. Engage in business development initiatives to attract additional profitable business opportunities for the Bank.
  8. Build and maintain professional community relations to enhance the Bank's visibility and create new business prospects.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Participate in Bank committees as required.
  2. Continuously update knowledge and engage in professional development through training opportunities.
  3. Perform other job-related duties as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  2. Experience in banking, agriculture, and/or sales is highly desirable.
  3. Basic understanding of agriculture and agricultural lending is preferred.
  4. Proficient computer and technical skills.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer and Bank information.
  6. Capability to manage time pressures and stress effectively.

Working Environment

The Agricultural Relationship Manager will travel for client visits and work in an office setting. The role may require work during standard business hours or outside of those hours to accommodate customer needs. The position involves regular mental and visual concentration for computer use and the assimilation of complex information. Physical activities may include walking, sitting, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel are required.

Equipment Utilized

The role involves operating a personal computer in a Windows environment for various tasks, as well as using office equipment such as printers, copiers, and multi-line telephones.
