Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HSE Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the company's health, safety, and environmental management system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility throughout the organization
  • Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, and develop strategies to prevent incidents
  • Participate in incident investigations and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure timely completion of worker's compensation reporting and maintain accurate records
  • Coordinate internal and external training initiatives, including HSE training and compliance programs
  • Develop and maintain HSE documentation, including SDS manuals and training matrices
  • Coordinate HSE testing initiatives, including hearing, pulmonary, and post-incident testing
  • Participate in and lead company HSE meetings and provide updates on HSE initiatives
  • Maintain personal protective equipment supplies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide advice on HSE issues and decisions, and coordinate new hire orientations and facility tours
  • Participate in auditing initiatives for COR and company compliance

Requirements

  • Completion or active enrollment in a post-secondary occupational health and safety program, or equivalent education or trades certification
  • 1-2 years of experience in an HSE role, with experience in HSE program administration, training delivery, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Intermediate knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
  • Experience in the trades, preferably in manufacturing and field service divisions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organization, planning, time-management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Comfortable interacting with management, employees, visitors, and government agencies

Physical Demands

  • Requires employee to stand for at least 50% of the time
  • Requires employee to sit for at least 50% of the time
  • Requires employee to occasionally climb stairs or ladders
  • Must be able to communicate with, and respond to others, in person, and on the telephone
  • Must be able to occasionally lift at least 10 pounds
  • Required travel no more than 25% of the time
  • Requires work in both indoor and outdoor conditions
  • Requires exposure to loud working environments
  • Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments
  • Must wear required PPE, including fire retardant clothing, hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety footwear, as applicable
