Position Summary:

The Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing and managing the organization's HSE policies and initiatives. This position requires effective collaboration with various departments, including Legal, Human Resources, and Field Supervisors, to ensure that safety protocols are uniformly applied across all operations. The HSE Compliance Manager will lead the field HSE team, track safety performance metrics, and oversee the implementation of safety-related programs.

Key Responsibilities:

The following outlines the primary responsibilities associated with this role, though it is not exhaustive and may include additional tasks as needed:

  • Policy Development and Coordination:
    • Conduct annual reviews and updates of HSE policies and procedures.
    • Collaborate with Legal, HR, and Field Supervisors to incorporate feedback and ensure consistency with company-wide policies.
  • Metrics Management and Reporting:
    • Regularly update HSE performance metrics for leadership evaluation.
    • Prepare and present quarterly HSE performance reports for Board assessment.
  • Meetings and Incident Oversight:
    • Participate in weekly Operations meetings to address HSE concerns.
    • Manage and review incidents and observations to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
  • Leadership of Field HSE Team:
    • Guide the field HSE team to maintain compliance and consistency across various operational areas.
    • Supervise contractor safety measures, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training sessions, audits, and internal safety programs.
  • Safety Training and Meetings:
    • Organize and distribute materials for monthly safety meetings.
    • Lead safety training initiatives in the office, including Fire Warden training, CPR training, Smith Driver training, ergonomics training, New Employee Orientation, and provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for field activities.
  • Learning Management System (LMS) Oversight:
    • Administer the Workday LMS, ensuring precise record-keeping, planning, scheduling, reporting, and feedback collection.
    • Ensure all training programs meet both internal and external compliance standards.
  • Contractor Compliance Management:
    • Manage ISNet and Veriforce contractor accounts to guarantee adherence to company HSE standards.
  • Observation and Incident Management:
    • Oversee the proprietary HSE observation and incident management system.
    • Maintain and update the Spotfire dashboard to provide real-time insights and data.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Certifications in relevant HSE disciplines (e.g., CSP, CIH, NEBOSH) are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations and best practices is essential.
  • Experience with HSE management systems (e.g., ISNet & Veriforce) is necessary.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with effective communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and time management capabilities are required.
  • Adaptability to changing business needs with minimal notice.
  • Meticulous with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with incident investigation methodologies and root cause analysis is preferred.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing HSE initiatives and programs.
