Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HSE Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the company's health, safety, and environmental management system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
  • Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, and develop strategies to prevent incidents.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain HSE training programs, including workshops, meetings, and training materials.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on HSE-related matters, including incident investigation and reporting.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and industry partners, to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Develop and maintain HSE documentation, including records of training, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Participate in the development of company-wide HSE initiatives and programs.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the company's HSE goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary occupational health and safety program or equivalent education.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an HSE role, with experience in HSE program administration, training delivery, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Experience in the trades, particularly in manufacturing and field service, is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational, planning, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

Physical Demands

  • Requires standing for at least 50% of the time.
  • Requires sitting for at least 50% of the time.
  • Requires occasional climbing of stairs or ladders.
  • Must be able to communicate with and respond to others in person and on the telephone.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift at least 10 pounds.
  • Required travel is no more than 25% of the time.
  • Requires work in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Requires exposure to loud working environments.
  • Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments.
  • Must wear required PPE, including fire retardant clothing, hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety footwear, as applicable.
