The HSE Portal and Fleet Coordinator is responsible for conducting safety and environmental assessments and inspections within the designated operational area to maintain a secure working environment and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. This role involves leading orientations, visiting operational sites to verify the implementation of effective safety measures, and fostering a Safety Culture that promotes accountability among employees regarding health, safety, and environmental practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee customer management systems, including platforms such as ISNetworld, Avetta, and Veriforce.
- Provide assistance to on-site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialists, the Corporate HSE Manager, clients, and internal corporate executives.
- Lead and promote Safety Committee initiatives at the corporate level, including First Responders and Hazard Observations.
- Communicate and implement strategic HSE directives in collaboration with local leadership to align with overall business objectives.
- Design and facilitate HSE programs and processes, including training, audits, observations, and risk assessments.
- Participate in and potentially lead divisional focus and improvement teams.
- Act as a technical consultant to management and teams, guiding them towards continuous HSE enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with local legal, business, and client requirements.
- Serve as a Team and/or Lead HSE Management System and DOT auditor, conducting audits across business units with thorough reporting and corrective action tracking.
- Collaborate with Corporate HSE on compliance initiatives related to Department of Transportation regulations and federal and state environmental laws.
- Provide coaching and mentorship on HSE practices for site personnel and leadership.
- Engage in project planning and change management to identify HSE challenges and opportunities for risk mitigation.
- Analyze site trends and root causes to propose actionable plans for improving safety controls.
- Identify corrective measures for incidents and audits, analyzing trends and utilizing research and best practices to address findings.
- Collaborate with divisional peers to develop processes and initiatives.
- Maintain communication with both external and internal stakeholders.
- Establish HSE teams and roles at locations, providing ongoing support for identified personnel.
- Create clear communications for operational levels.
- Compile and report necessary internal and external statistics, data, and reports for assigned sites.
- Manage and potentially lead special projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Comprehensive understanding of regulations and the regulatory landscape.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective presentation abilities.
- Ability to engage with all levels of management effectively.
Educational Background:
- Associate's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 1 year of experience.
- Full certification required for Associate's degree; Associate certification preferred for Bachelor's degree.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with an Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 1 year of experience.
