Join Our Team as a Meat and Seafood Specialist

As an integral part of our team, you will collaborate closely with the Meat and Seafood Department Manager to provide outstanding service and high-quality products to our cherished customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service to ensure satisfaction - top-tier service is essential.
  • Comply with all weights and measures regulations.
  • Maintain the visual appeal of the meat, poultry, and seafood displays.
  • Assist customers in selecting the ideal products for their culinary needs.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation in the refrigeration and freezing areas.
  • Follow the guidance and procedures set by our head butcher.
  • Keep your work area consistently clean and sanitary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of equipment, including saws, grinders, and vacuum sealers.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 2-4 years of relevant butchery experience.
  • Experience with seafood is a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various cuts of beef, lamb, pork, and poultry.
  • Understanding of profit margins and the ability to maintain them during product preparation.
  • Exceptional knife skills.
  • Food Safety Certification is advantageous.
  • Diverse culinary skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English with customers.
  • Exhibit excellent knife safety practices.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • Passionate about providing quality products, supporting local suppliers, and promoting sustainability.
  • Ability to engage customers with warmth and humor.
  • Preferred flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • During an 8-hour shift: standing/walking for 6-8 hours.
  • Hand dexterity: grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
  • Exposure to various temperatures: below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigeration), above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in a cold and wet environment.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
