Job Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a pivotal member of the Executive Management Team, contributing strategically to the overall leadership of the organization. This role is essential in steering the financial direction and strategy of the organization, ensuring optimal financial performance.

The CFO is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, risk assessment, and property oversight. Key responsibilities include:

  • Formulating and executing comprehensive financial plans to enhance the organization's economic standing.
  • Providing insightful analysis of financial reports and trends to assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborating with various departments to promote financial health through data-driven strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations while maintaining efficient day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial strategy and policy development to support organizational goals.
  • Partner with the board of directors and audit committee to oversee financial integrity and compliance.
  • Direct the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Implement best practices for financial management and internal controls to ensure organizational efficiency.
  • Oversee financial reporting and ensure accurate and timely communication of financial data to stakeholders.
  • Manage the organization’s treasury functions, ensuring effective cash and investment management.
  • Conduct audits and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Supervise the management of organizational assets and properties to ensure optimal performance.
  • Establish strong relationships with senior executives to foster collaboration and drive business solutions.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team to achieve operational excellence.

This role requires a Bachelor's Degree, with an MBA preferred, and a CPA designation. A minimum of ten years of experience in financial management within a nonprofit environment is essential.
