KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exhibit an executive-level understanding of the financial, accounting, and operational dimensions of the organization, assisting the CEO and executive leadership in fulfilling the company’s strategic vision and objectives.
  • Act as a strategic collaborator with the CEO, executing independently and efficiently within established timelines for key initiatives.
  • Oversee the accounting division in formulating processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations, maintain accurate records, and uphold robust accounting controls that support organizational operations.
  • Engage in monthly project evaluations with the CEO, executive team, and project leaders to assess performance, identify risks, and devise actionable plans.
  • Assist operational teams in managing project cash flow, including the development and execution of credit and collections policies and change order management.
  • Serve as a financial advisor to the CEO regarding various contractual agreements.
  • Foster collaboration among peers and team members to enhance knowledge sharing across departments and affiliated companies.
  • Inspire and elevate the accounting and finance team to align with the organization's operational vision, empowering direct reports to achieve higher performance levels while promoting a service-oriented culture.
  • Champion EMCOR and EMCOR Government Services' Code of Ethics, emphasizing integrity in all business dealings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The CFO will oversee the following departments:

  • Accounting and Finance
  • Payroll
  • Procurement
  • Information Technology
  • Human Resources

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • An MBA in accounting, finance, or a related field is highly preferred, along with 5-10 years of progressive senior management experience in accounting or finance; or
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, accompanied by 10-15 years of relevant senior management experience.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will have industry-specific and/or regional experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FASB, SOX, IRS, DBA, and applicable Federal and State regulations is essential.
  • Experience with construction contract terminology, particularly with Federal contracts and construction accounting, is advantageous.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficient in advanced accounting software applications, with experience in COINS or Vista Viewpoint accounting systems being beneficial.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel capabilities.
