Job Overview

BetterPay is seeking a highly driven and visionary Director of Sales and Strategic Partnerships to lead and expand our independent sales partner network and drive the growth of our business.

This role will play a pivotal role in the continued growth and success of BetterPay, leading our sales efforts, fostering relationships with independent sales agents, and developing strategies that will maximize sales performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of sales leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship management, with a deep understanding of the merchant services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies that align with company goals and drive results.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with independent sales partners, fostering trust, loyalty, and collaboration.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of effective sales processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Partner Support to develop and refine strategies that enhance both the sales process and overall partner experience.
  • Recruit and grow the base of independent sales partners, expanding our reach and market penetration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Sales & Management Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, with at least 1 year in sales management, preferably within the merchant services industry.
  • Strategic & Analytical Skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze sales data and trends to develop effective sales strategies.
    • Proven skill in forecasting sales performance to meet or exceed targets.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Proven experience managing client and sales agent relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Strong networking skills within the merchant services industry to drive growth.
  • Sales Operations & Technology:
    • Familiarity with sales automation tools and data analytics platforms.
    • Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office.
    • Comfortable using digital communication platforms such as Zoom.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of motivating sales teams.
    • Experience in guiding independent sales partners and collaborating across departments to align sales and marketing strategies.
  • Communication & Problem-Solving:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    • Deep understanding of merchant services products and services.
    • Experience in advertising and marketing is a plus.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Location & Adaptability:
    • Based in the New York Tri-State area or open to strong remote candidates.
