The Nursing Program Coordinator is essential in enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Nurse Advocate Team. In this role, you will have the chance to positively impact the lives of our patients daily, as they rely on you as a vital part of their dedicated support system for navigating the complexities of accessing their specialized medications. You will lead a team committed to delivering outstanding service to numerous patients each day. Additionally, you will serve as a consultant to our clients, leveraging your expertise to continually enhance the program's effectiveness for ongoing patient assistance.

A typical day for a Nursing Program Coordinator may include:

Operational Program Oversight

  • Grasping client goals and integrating them into program service objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with contracted service levels in program execution
  • Managing the client service request queue, overseeing both completed tasks and ongoing work
  • Implementing and managing client-specific operational guidelines
  • Identifying opportunities for program enhancements in service scope and efficiency
  • Analyzing data to provide actionable insights that align with client goals
  • Collaborating effectively with internal and external partners to eliminate non-clinical obstacles for patients.

Financial Management

  • Tracking and providing weekly updates on factors affecting the program's financial outlook
  • Compiling activity summaries for the preparation and review of client monthly invoices

Team Development and Management

  • Identifying talent for open roles and fostering internal candidate development for advancement opportunities
  • Collaborating with HR to maintain optimal staffing levels
  • Working proactively with Human Resources to build a consistent pipeline of candidates
  • Driving training, development, and retention initiatives for the team
  • Offering targeted coaching to enhance team performance and efficiency
  • Acting as a subject matter expert and resource for patient navigators, assisting in their training and addressing operational process issues.

Client Engagement

  • Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing operational results specific to clients
  • Leading the preparation of client business review meetings with operational metrics and insights
  • Serving as the primary contact for program-related inquiries and issue resolution
  • Ensuring that reporting of adverse events and product complaints is conducted per client instructions
  • Executing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse
  • 2-3 years of nursing experience in rare diseases, neurology, and/or oncology preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the healthcare sector required
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in nurse line triage, call center utilization management, or case management is a plus
  • Prior personnel or team management experience required; experience managing managers is advantageous
  • Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech companies, or hub service providers is essential
  • Familiarity with the specialty drug marketplace, health insurance claims processing, and product commercialization is beneficial
  • Previous experience leading customer service teams is a plus
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • This position requires regular communication and listening skills. The employee frequently sits for extended periods, uses hands for typing, and reaches with arms.
  • This is an office-based role, necessitating the ability to sit for long durations.
  • Minimal travel flexibility may be preferred.
  • This role operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
