The Nurse Program Manager is essential in enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Nurse Advocate Team. In this role, you will have the chance to positively impact the lives of patients daily, as they rely on your expertise as part of their dedicated support team to navigate the complexities of accessing their critical medications. You will lead a compassionate team that strives to deliver an outstanding experience to numerous patients each day. Additionally, you will serve as the program knowledge expert, providing consultation to clients and continually seeking ways to optimize the program's impact for ongoing patient support.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Program Management

  • Comprehend client objectives and integrate them into program service goals.
  • Ensure compliance with contracted service levels in program service execution.
  • Oversee the management of client service request queues, ensuring timely completion and progress tracking.
  • Implement and manage client-specific business rules effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for program enhancements in service scope and delivery efficiency.
  • Analyze data to provide actionable insights that align with client objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to eliminate non-clinical barriers for patients.

Financial Oversight

  • Monitor and provide updates on factors affecting the program's financial forecast.
  • Prepare activity summaries for the development and review of client invoices.

Team Development

  • Identify and nurture talent for open positions, including developing internal candidates for advancement.
  • Collaborate with HR to maintain optimal staffing levels for the program.
  • Work proactively with Human Resources to ensure a consistent pipeline of candidates.
  • Drive training, development, and retention strategies for the team.
  • Offer targeted coaching to enhance agent performance and efficiency through strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and resource for patient navigators, assisting in their training and addressing operational process issues.

Client Engagement

  • Prepare, review, and analyze operational results specific to clients.
  • Lead the preparation of client business review meetings, presenting operational metrics and insights.
  • Serve as the primary contact for program-related inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of Adverse Events/Product Complaints in accordance with client instructions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Oversee a large team, potentially including multiple Supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • 2-3 years of nursing experience in rare disease, neurology, and/or oncology preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the healthcare sector is required.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in nurse line triage, Call Center Utilization Management, or Call Center Case Management is a plus.
  • Experience in case management or as a Clinical Trial Nurse is advantageous.
  • Previous personnel/team management experience is required; experience managing managers is a plus.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturers, Biotech companies, or hub service providers is essential.
  • Knowledge of the specialty drug product marketplace, health insurance claims processing, and product commercialization is beneficial.
  • Previous experience leading customer service teams is a plus.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.

  • This role requires regular communication and the ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
  • This position operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment.
