Position Overview

Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned Principal Engineer specializing in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) to become a vital part of our field services team. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a range of CMT projects, ensuring thorough technical report evaluations, and prepare and assess proposals while assisting in departmental management and financial oversight.
  • Deliver expert guidance by analyzing reports and providing mentorship, training, and development opportunities for CMT personnel.
  • Actively support the growth of junior project managers and collaborate with fellow managers and internal recruiters to address staffing needs based on project requirements.
  • Engage in project meetings with clients, offering technical solutions to any challenges that arise.
  • Promote our services through networking efforts, fostering new client relationships while nurturing existing ones.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology. Note: Construction Management degrees and certain Technology degrees may not qualify.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including drafting, reviewing, and approving technical reports.
  • Professional licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG).
  • Designation as a senior reviewer at your current or previous firm is required; detailed information on ECS senior reviewer policy will be discussed during the interview or offer process.
  • Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Exhibit strong technical competence, leadership, safety awareness, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated success in project management, consulting, and business development.
  • In-depth knowledge of CMT principles, applications, and ASTM laboratory standards.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and insurance for driving on behalf of ECS.
  • Exceptional marketing skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain client relationships; experience with established local market connections is preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, capable of effectively collaborating with clients, peers, and supervisors.
