Position Overview


Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer specializing in Construction Materials Testing (CMT) to enhance our field services team in a vibrant work setting.

In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for guaranteeing that the quality and performance across a diverse range of projects align with our established standards. You will collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure that objectives and timelines are achieved from the initial proposal through to the final review.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage various CMT projects, conduct thorough technical report evaluations, prepare and assess proposals, and assist in departmental management and financial oversight.

• Provide expert guidance by reviewing reports and supporting CMT personnel through mentorship, training, and professional development.

• Actively mentor junior project managers and contribute to the overall growth of your team, including working alongside other managers and internal recruiters to make informed staffing decisions based on project requirements.

• Facilitate or participate in project meetings with clients, offering technical solutions to issues as needed.

• Effectively promote our services through networking, while fostering new and maintaining existing client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in fields such as Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology; please note that degrees in Construction Management and certain Technology fields may not be eligible.

• A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including drafting, reviewing, and approving technical reports.

• Professional licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG).

• Must hold the designation of senior reviewer at your current or previous organization; detailed information regarding ECS' senior reviewer policy will be provided during the interview or offer process.

• Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Demonstrated technical proficiency, leadership, safety, and professionalism.

• Proven track record in project management, consulting, and business development.

• In-depth knowledge of CMT principles, applications, and ASTM laboratory standards.

• A valid driver's license and insurance are required if driving on behalf of ECS.

• Strong marketing capabilities with the ability to establish and sustain client relationships; prior experience with established connections in the local market is preferred.

• Exceptional communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).

• Outstanding leadership and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
