Position Overview

DPR Construction is in search of a Lead Project Engineer to oversee our commercial construction initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and uphold DPR's environmental health and safety protocols to ensure a consistently injury-free workplace, including conducting weekly safety evaluations.
  • Guide, mentor, and train team members to foster rapid professional development.
  • Supervise and manage the project engineering team.
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with contracts, both between DPR and subcontractors and between DPR and clients.
  • Support the project manager and superintendent in executing DPR policies and project execution.
  • Coordinate the responsibilities of engineers, field office coordinators, project accountants, and other assigned personnel, providing direction and performance feedback.
  • Engage in training sessions and company meetings to promote both individual and organizational growth.
  • Organize and digitally archive project documentation for easy access by the project team.
  • Prepare, monitor, and revise project timelines, collaborating with the superintendent to address project constraints.
  • Manage the creation, maintenance, and execution of various document control tools, including daily reports, procurement logs, submittal logs, as-built documents, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs.
  • Disseminate updated drawings, modifications, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other pertinent project information to all relevant parties.
  • Identify, compile, negotiate, and distribute change orders to both clients and subcontractors.
  • Prepare agendas, documents, meeting minutes, and action items for various meetings, including those with owners, architects, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in project cost management, maintaining internal records and collaborating with subcontractors to ensure timely payment for changes.
  • Compile owner billing by organizing DPR costs, reviewing subcontractor invoices, and arranging documentation according to client specifications.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented team player capable of managing multiple tasks while consistently delivering high-quality work within deadlines. Key qualifications include:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (CMiC, Prolog or similar), scheduling software (Primavera or similar), and BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks or similar).
  • 5+ years of experience as a project engineer, ideally within DPR's core markets.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • A strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a passion for the construction industry.
