Job Summary

Tolunay-Wong Engineers, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Materials Testing Technician, Level I to join our team. As a Technician, Level I, you will play a crucial role in assisting our experienced technicians in the performance of routine construction monitoring, field, and/or laboratory tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the sampling or testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials as directed by senior technicians or supervisors.
  • Support field and/or laboratory personnel as needed to complete tasks and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Transport equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients, or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment set-up.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company standards and quality control procedures.
  • Assist other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks, including data entry, report preparation, and quality control checks.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of company policies, procedures, and quality control measures to ensure compliance and excellence in work performance.
  • Participate in safety audits and near-miss programs to identify areas for improvement and contribute to a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • No prior experience necessary; on-the-job training provided.
  • Ability to lift 10-60 lbs. and work outside for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to obtain relevant certifications, such as ACI, TXDOT, or NICET, with company support.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug test, background check, and fit-for-duty test.
  • Flexibility to work weekends or nights as required by client schedules.
