Role Summary

The Senior Vice President of the CoMET Department at HVJ Associates is tasked with leading the department in alignment with the overarching policies and strategies of the organization. This role demands a leader who exemplifies outstanding leadership qualities and embodies the core values of HVJ Associates. The individual will be responsible for nurturing client relationships, overseeing human resources, and spearheading business development and operational activities. The SVP will oversee the entire CoMET department, ensuring the quality and timely completion of all projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the allocation of unit staff assignments to fulfill client service requests effectively.
  • Collaborate with department managers to secure additional personnel and equipment as necessary.
  • Assist in the creation of project proposals and capability statements.
  • Contribute to the company’s vision by engaging in business development and client interactions.
  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction through proactive engagement.
  • Monitor financial performance of the CoMET department, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Drive the company's vision by executing communication and development strategies within the service line.
  • Forecast departmental performance in line with annual goals and initiatives.
  • Implement quality assurance protocols as outlined in the Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Communicate relevant technical, administrative, and financial information to staff as required.
  • Prepare and approve technical and cost proposals.
  • Develop annual business development plans for the CoMET department.
  • Address conflicts and complaints in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Evaluate the performance of unit staff and recommend staffing changes in accordance with company policies.
  • Enforce disciplinary measures when necessary, adhering to the Employee Manual.

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required, along with a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in Geotechnical and Construction Materials Engineering, and possession of a PE License. A combination of relevant work experience and education may be considered for exceptional candidates.
