Position Summary:
As a Level III Technician, you will engage in sophisticated construction oversight, conducting both field and laboratory assessments, analyzing results, and formulating testing strategies. Your responsibilities will include the preparation and transportation of samples and reports, as well as executing technical and administrative tasks under the guidance of a senior technician or project manager.
All technicians are expected to be physically capable of fulfilling the outlined responsibilities, which may involve lifting weights ranging from 10 to 60 lbs and moving materials weighing up to 200 lbs using appropriate equipment. At Tolunay-Wong Engineers, Inc., we prioritize safety and expect every employee to carry out their duties with a commitment to the well-being of themselves and their colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct both basic and advanced testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials in various settings, ensuring accurate reporting of test data.
- Oversee construction monitoring activities on larger and more intricate projects.
- Safely transport representative samples to the laboratory for analysis and testing.
- Ensure proper identification of all material samples and maintain this identification throughout the testing process.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians, documenting progress as required by our quality assurance program.
- Assist field and laboratory personnel as necessary to ensure task completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and care for your equipment.
- Support other technicians or professional staff as needed.
- Commit to retaining knowledge and skills to foster personal and professional growth within the company.
- Uphold our quality standards and procedures, ensuring the integrity of your work and the reputation of Tolunay-Wong Engineers, Inc.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures, actively participating in safety audits and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years of favorable performance evaluations.
- Ability to lift weights between 10 – 60 lbs and work outdoors for extended durations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; NICET Level II certification or higher; ACI Grade I certification or higher.
- Proficient in computer usage and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with a solid aptitude for mathematics.
