About the Role

As a Director of Business Development and Growth at Verana Health, you will play a critical role in driving the company's sales strategy and expanding our presence in the life sciences industry. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers, and developing and executing comprehensive sales plans to achieve individual and team goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities within specified accounts and territories.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Build, maintain, and manage a sales pipeline and forecast to achieve individual bookings goals.
  • Account Management: Establish and execute comprehensive sales plans for each target account, cultivating strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Gain an understanding of competitive activities, positioning, and pricing, including specific reasons for awards and non-awards.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Position yourself as a consultative subject matter expert and single point of contact between Verana Health and your customers.
  • Presentation and Communication: Confidently and credibly present healthcare data and licensing solutions through product presentations, demonstrations, conference calls, technical discussions, executive discussions, web seminars, and related activities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Pre-Sales, Product Development, Marketing, Quantitative Science, and Medical teams to develop solutions that solve for client challenges.
  • Opportunity Development: Drive all stages of opportunity development from coordinating product proposals, RFIs, RFPs to contract negotiations and execution.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with Sales Operations and Delivery teams on account status, follow-up activities, product literature, opportunity status, win-loss, and related sales support tasks.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years in the healthcare industry, with demonstrated experience selling healthcare data research assets and related analytic applications.
  • Consultative Selling: Successful at uncovering and developing sales opportunities with top 20 Pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Complex Sales Environment: Ability to operate effectively in a complex white-space, concept-driven environment.
  • Results-Oriented: Overachiever with a consistent track record of annual quota/revenue achievement.
  • Client Relationship Management: Excel in managing the client relationship from lead through implementation.
  • Partnership Development: Experience structuring win-win partnerships and leading the contracting process.
  • Data and Analytics: Strong understanding of data use constraints within healthcare and life sciences.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in ophthalmology, neurology, and urology a plus.
