We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to support the management of our retail operations at GoMulch Stores. Key Responsibilities:

As the Retail Operations Supervisor, you will assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety, sales performance, and profitability at our landscaping supply depot. You will step in as the acting Store Manager during their absence and will be responsible for inventory management and delivering exceptional customer service.

Core Duties:

  • Promote a culture of safety by adhering to the ALL4Zero Safety Program and setting an example for safe practices.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Manage daily store functions and guide team members in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Ensure timely opening and closing of the store, maintaining security protocols.
  • Engage in hands-on leadership, assisting in various roles to meet customer needs.
  • Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment and machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Display products attractively and ensure the store and yard are well-kept.
  • Manage inventory processes, including product transfers and cycle counts, while resolving discrepancies.
  • Perform essential tasks such as sales transactions, customer assistance, and product deliveries.
  • Utilize Eagle software for sales management, billing, and inventory tracking.
  • Handle cash management responsibilities, including daily deposits and petty cash oversight.
  • Provide customers with expert advice on products and local market trends.
  • Train new staff on store operations and product knowledge.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with customers, employees, and vendors.
  • Address customer concerns effectively, escalating issues to the Store Manager when necessary.
  • Operate forklifts and other machinery as needed.
  • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED; 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Associate degree or trade school education is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Licenses and Certifications:

A valid Florida driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety policies and operational guidelines.
  • Proficient in writing reports and communicating effectively with diverse groups.
  • Fluency in English is required; bilingual skills in English/Spanish are advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision capabilities must include close, distance, and color vision.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and potential noise from machinery.
  • Work conditions may vary, requiring adaptability to different environments.
