**General Overview:**

Assumes a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for optimizing store performance by consistently delivering outstanding Customer experiences. Drives achievement of business objectives by ensuring exceptional Customer service, engaging merchandise presentation, operational excellence, optimal staffing, and Associate development. Enhances company goals and elevates the DSW brand image by exemplifying our core values: accountability, humility, and collaboration. Formulates and executes flexible strategic plans to meet business targets. Promotes teamwork and collaboration within the store and district. Guides efforts to ensure customers receive service that is Friendly, Helpful, Passionate, and Genuine. Reports to District Manager. Oversees Store Associates, Operations & Merchandise Managers, and Assistant Operations & Merchandise Managers.

**Sales and Service Excellence:**

Facilitates consistent, exceptional Customer experiences through the effective execution of the Manager on Duty (MOD) role. Mentors the store team on the connection between service behaviors and business outcomes to support our Service Model and DSW Mission Statement. Ensures clear communication of direction and education to the team. Maintains optimal staffing and scheduling while adapting to fluctuations in traffic and business trends. Provides leadership and communicates to associates the Check Check Match service model. Addresses customer feedback. Upholds KPI standards.

**Team and Associate Development:**

Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and retains high-performing and productive managers and sales associates. Communicates objectives and provides leadership that inspires total associate commitment to company goals and values through effective performance-based coaching, motivating recognition, and timely, constructive feedback. Offers development opportunities for associates that align with company growth. Conducts annual performance evaluations for associates. Develops associate schedules and manages payroll processes. Coordinates all management candidate and new hire processes (paperwork, offers, etc.). Ensures compliance with Company Policies and Procedures. Disseminates information provided in various Company communication materials.

**Merchandising Standards:**

Ensures store appearance and visual presentation standards are consistent with the DSW brand image. Responds to business trends by communicating necessary information to the District Manager. Ensures store compliance with established Brand Experience standards.

**Operational Management:**

Manages resources to maximize financial objectives. Fosters knowledge and integrity regarding compliance with company policies in all practices. Effectively utilizes resources and business partners to resolve issues with a sense of urgency. Recognizes when to adjust strategic direction to achieve and sustain optimal results. Educates the team on the relationship between operational integrity and its impact on facilitating an exceptional Customer experience. Oversees daily store cleanliness, recovery, maintenance, and inventory. Utilizes monthly Operations Assessment to identify and rectify operational deficiencies in the store. Ensures training is conducted regarding Loss Prevention and Safety standards.

**Qualifications:**

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proven ability to inspire and motivate others.

Proficiency in basic computer use, including e-mail, MS Word or other word processing programs, and Excel or other spreadsheet programs.

Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of 4 years of retail management experience.

May be required to travel by air, car, train, etc.
