Position Overview
The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in overseeing daily store functions while ensuring adherence to all company policies and procedures. This position provides leadership, direction, and training to the store team under the guidance of the Store Manager. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Retail Operations Supervisor will take full responsibility for all store activities. The aim is to consistently achieve and surpass established sales, service, and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of both employees and customers.
  • Develop and maintain an exceptional customer shopping experience by upholding service level standards and providing effective training and leadership to staff members. Address customer concerns promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Manage all point-of-sale transactions in compliance with company policies, including sales, discounts, refunds, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Oversee inventory control by adhering to policies regarding shipping and receiving, price management, damaged merchandise, and conducting physical inventory counts.
  • Implement sales floor merchandising and visual presentation strategies in line with company standards, including merchandise placement and promotional signage.
  • Control payroll by adhering to scheduling policies and maintaining compliance with payroll budgets and attendance records.
  • Facilitate the training and development of team members by utilizing available training resources and consistently reinforcing operational standards.
  • Ensure loss prevention by adhering to policies that protect and manage company assets.
  • Work towards a comprehensive understanding of daily operational management.

Principal Working Relationships
Interactions with customers, sales associates, store management, district/regional managers, and training personnel are essential.

Essential Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess an approved background check, effective communication skills, strong managerial and organizational abilities, and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers and employees. A solid understanding of visual merchandising, basic math skills, and knowledge of corporate and store operations policies is also required.
