Financial Analyst

Command Holdings is in search of a dedicated Accounting Analyst to provide essential support to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role focuses on enhancing financial planning, execution, reporting, and analysis throughout the entire Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution cycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and applying accounting lines, as well as generating Purchase Orders in the relevant financial systems.
- Retrieving and assessing documents for fiscal accuracy, while communicating necessary clarifications or corrections.
- Conducting data analysis to identify solutions that enhance transaction processing efficiency.
- Creating, maintaining, and monitoring financial spend plans and contract-related financial data.
- Investigating and researching any outstanding balances.
- Reconciling and resolving unpaid obligations.
- Comparing hardcopy accounting records with electronic versions to address discrepancies.
- Identifying trends and lessons learned to improve operational effectiveness.
- Developing and implementing performance metrics.
- Assisting in the documentation of current processes and ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are up-to-date, while communicating new procedures to stakeholders.
- Granting access to systems, providing training, and addressing operational issues related to the Electronic File Cabinet (EFC).
The work environment is characterized by moderate noise levels typical of a business office setting, with occasional loud noise from large equipment.
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is expected to:
- Sit, stand, talk, and hear as necessary.
- Utilize hands and fingers to operate a computer.
- Receive reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Minimal travel is anticipated, estimated at 0-10%.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
- Active TS security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
- Experience in financial analysis and Department of Defense (DOD) accounting.
- Exceptional communication skills and a strong client focus.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Management.
- Experience in Budget Execution and Accounting Services.
- Familiarity with the DIA organization, including its missions and functions.
