ANALYST

Olsen Palmer LLC is strategically seeking a Financial Advisory Analyst for our team. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the firm's senior partners on various client engagements, both current and prospective.

The ideal applicant will possess direct experience in banking and thrift mergers and acquisitions, or equivalent substantial experience in investment banking, commercial banking, management consulting, or accounting. The candidate should demonstrate maturity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic, as they will play a vital role within the deal team, engaging directly with clients. Exceptional quantitative skills, advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with strong oral and written communication abilities, refined organizational skills, and effective time management capabilities are essential. The candidate should thrive in a collaborative, small-team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting financial and valuation analyses
  • Developing pro forma merger models
  • Creating client presentations and marketing materials
  • Drafting offering memorandums for M&A transactions
  • Supporting client relationships, participating in client meetings, and engaging directly with clients during relevant phases of live projects
  • Researching deal-specific and business development topics, including market trends, economic data, demographic information, company profiles, and competitive analysis
  • Training and mentoring junior analysts and interns
  • Demonstrating a desire to advance to a senior banker role over time and a commitment to developing the necessary skills for such a transition

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 0-2+ years of experience primarily in investment banking, particularly in financial institutions M&A, or comparable in-house corporate buy-side M&A experience
  • Fluency in financial institutions and depository financial statements
  • Proficiency with S&P Global
  • Strong academic credentials from a top-tier institution, preferably with a major in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • Motivated, detail-oriented, and mature
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • SIE Exam and Series 79 and 63 certifications are strongly preferred
