About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Technical Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for enhancing tools, functions, and procedures, assisting with software implementations and upgrades, and analyzing and distributing financial and statistical reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for reporting sources and tools; collaborate with other Financial Analysts to ensure comprehensive knowledge of reporting responsibilities.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources using SQL.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports and dashboards that streamline distribution of financial data to support strategic initiatives.
  • Lead projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of tools, functions, and procedures, including assistance with software implementations and upgrades.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute financial and statistical reports.
  • Write complex Structured Query Language (SQL) queries to mine, manage, and analyze large datasets.
  • Analyze potential lateral hires; review historic statistics, project impact to firm, and make recommendations on hiring.
  • Design and develop customized reporting for internal and external client needs.
  • Visualize financial data to highlight key insights and trends; comparison to industry and peers; identify areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Conduct detailed statistical analysis of Firm, SBU, clients, or timekeepers.
  • Assist with preparation and monitoring of budget and forecast; provide variance analyses.
  • Deliver profitability analytics that align with the Firm's strategic goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in a related field; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required.
  • Proven experience as Financial Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or CFA) or relevant certification preferred, but not required.
  • Extensive experience with SQL for data manipulation and analysis required.
  • Expertise in Power BI (including DAX functions and Power Query) preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions/macros).
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting.
