Position: Budget Analyst

Salary: $115,094.00

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is dedicated to promoting the fiscal health, accountability, and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia. We are currently seeking a Budget Analyst who will be responsible for the formulation, justification, monitoring, and enhancement of budgetary processes within the designated agency's department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the precision of budget requests, conduct detailed analyses of specific budgetary programs and initiatives, and provide sound recommendations along with accurate budget forecasts.
  • Collaborate with program managers and financial staff to gather necessary information for sustainable justification of budget requests.
  • Oversee that the budgets for assigned program operations are utilized effectively to meet program objectives, adhere to established criteria, and comply with regulations.
  • Maintain continuous oversight of the program's use of approved financial resources.
  • Create guidance and tools to enhance the department's capability in budget formulation, execution, and planning.
  • Evaluate the implications of revised budget execution policies and timelines, offering guidance to program management regarding fund status and related issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive budgetary documents, including reports, tables, letters, and memoranda.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in roles involving budget formulation, justification, monitoring, coordination, and approval of budget requests, as well as preparing reports and analyses related to funding matters.
