Position Overview

Salary: $20-$25
Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) is in search of a Materials Production Coordinator to facilitate the implementation of STEAM initiatives and manage student program kits. This role is pivotal in overseeing and monitoring the materials utilized in kit assembly while fostering relationships with volunteers and organizing their workspace effectively.

As a member of the Operations team, the selected candidate will also provide support to the retail team as necessary, ensuring a seamless operation.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Executing tasks such as processing, kit assembly, barcoding, inventory management, and quality assurance as directed by the Production Director.
  • Assisting volunteers with inquiries and providing guidance on tasks to keep them engaged and productive.
  • Setting up and dismantling volunteer stations, including cleaning and organizing the area.
  • Maintaining the volunteer room and production spaces to reflect RAFT's brand image through cleanliness and organization.
  • Leading the receiving and processing of purchased inventory, preparing materials for the sales floor.
  • Understanding and articulating RAFT's mission and effectively communicating its value and impact to volunteers.
  • Familiarizing oneself with RAFT's STEAM Learning Activity Kit Catalog and independently producing kits while supporting volunteers and store staff.
  • Managing and tracking materials used in kit production, including retrieving and returning items to storage.
  • Conducting inventory cycle counts.
  • Overseeing the stocking of STEAM Activity Kits and purchased inventory on the sales floor.
  • Providing ERP (NetSuite) support for the Production Director in areas such as Bill of Materials, Purchasing, and Inventory.
  • Assisting with offsite RAFT volunteer events as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong event administration and volunteer management capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Robust decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Availability to work one weekend day per week.
Education & Experience Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in warehouse operations, volunteer coordination, or a related field, or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Educators and parents can become RAFT members and access affordable items devoted to hands-on learning.
