Job Summary:

As a Buyer/Planner, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process to ensure a seamless supply of materials for production and product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategically plan and procure material requirements to support ongoing production and new product initiatives.
  2. Prepare, review, and submit purchasing requisitions for the department.
  3. Maintain accurate computerized purchasing records alongside physical documentation.
  4. Identify and resolve any material shortages affecting production timelines.
  5. Establish and nurture relationships with dependable vendors and suppliers to manage purchase orders based on demand.
  6. Place orders and closely collaborate with contract manufacturers to meet sales demands and fulfillment targets.
  7. Continuously monitor CM production schedules to ensure timely delivery, particularly for prototype projects.
  8. Regularly update planning spreadsheets and internal reports to reflect current data.
  9. Assess and manage inventory levels in relation to sales forecasts and trends, adapting to changes as necessary.
  10. Accurately enter purchase transactions and compile both historical and current data for analysis.
  11. Coordinate with the internal purchasing team to ensure compliance with ISO standards and requirements.
  12. Undertake additional projects and tasks as required by business needs.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing and planning, particularly with contract manufacturers in the computer hardware or server product sectors.
  3. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  4. Familiarity with ISO systems and standards is crucial.
  5. Experience with ISO13485, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 is advantageous.
  6. Ability to present data and analyses in a clear and organized manner.
  7. Proficient in managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  8. Demonstrated capability to research and apply critical information for product evaluation and cost analysis.
  9. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  10. Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
  11. Knowledge of lean principles and Just-In-Time (JIT) environments is beneficial.
  12. APICS Certification is a plus.
  13. Experience in hardware design or component selection is highly desirable.
  14. Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining ethical and professional conduct.
