Position Overview for LVN/LPN Per Diem Evenings
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers patient care in accordance with the Scope of Practice established by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. This role involves contributing to patient assessments through careful observation, documentation, and reporting of patient conditions. The LPN will also engage in the development and adjustment of care plans, implementing care strategies within their scope of practice and evaluating patient responses to interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patients for neurological signs, skin integrity, and vital signs.
- Administer medications, including oral, IM, and subcutaneous, while maintaining accurate patient records.
- Conduct specimen collections and perform various patient treatments.
- Assist with patient mobility and hygiene, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Provide wound care and manage IV therapy, adhering to established protocols.
- Educate patients on care procedures and health management.
Qualifications for LVN/LPN Per Diem Evenings
Education
Required: Completion of an accredited LPN program with a curriculum that supports infusion therapy within the scope of practice.
Preferred: Enrollment in a Registered Nurse program.
Licensure/Certification
Required: Current Arizona Practical Nursing license.
Experience
Preferred: Familiarity with hospital settings and prior healthcare experience.
Skills
Required: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, along with computer proficiency.
Knowledge
Required: Understanding of the Arizona Nurse Practice Act.
Other Requirements
Must be available to work flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends, and be capable of performing all duties, including lifting and transferring patients using proper techniques.
