Position Overview for Evening LPN

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing patient care within the defined scope of practice for LPNs as established by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. The LPN plays a crucial role in patient assessment through careful observation, documentation, and communication regarding patients' conditions. You will also contribute to the development and adjustment of care plans and implement care strategies within your scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients for neurological signs, skin integrity, and vital signs.
  • Administer medications and document patient care accurately.
  • Perform specimen collections and assist with various patient treatments.
  • Support patients with mobility and hygiene needs.
  • Provide wound care and manage IV therapy as required.
  • Educate patients on care procedures and health management.

Qualifications

Education: Required: Completion of an accredited LPN program. Preferred: Enrollment in an RN program.

Licensure/Certification: Required: Current Arizona LPN license.

Experience: Preferred: Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Skills: Required: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in computer skills.

Knowledge: Required: Familiarity with the Arizona Nurse Practice Act.

Other Requirements: Must be available to work flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends, and be capable of performing physical tasks associated with patient care.
