Position Overview for Per Diem Evening LPN
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers patient care in accordance with the Scope of Practice as outlined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing. The LPN plays a vital role in patient assessment through careful observation, documentation, and communication regarding patient conditions. You will be involved in the formulation and adjustment of care plans, implementing care strategies within your scope of practice, and evaluating patient responses to interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patients for neurological signs, skin integrity, and vital signs.
- Administer medications and document patient care accurately.
- Conduct specimen collections and perform various treatments as required.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfer using appropriate techniques.
- Provide wound care and maintain surgical dressings.
- Support patients with their hygiene and comfort needs.
- Educate patients on care procedures and health management.
Qualifications
Education: Required: Graduate of an accredited LPN program. Preferred: Enrollment in an RN program.
Licensure/Certification: Required: Current Arizona Practical Nursing license.
Experience: Preferred: Familiarity with hospital settings and prior healthcare experience.
Skills: Required: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge: Required: Understanding of the Arizona Nurse Practice Act.
Other Requirements: Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, and the ability to perform physical tasks safely.
