Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Lead Project Coordinator to become a vital part of our Project Control team. This role involves overseeing project management tasks and contributing to the growth and marketing of our commercial construction services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and monitor the professional development of team members.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and review project quality plans, focusing on quality control and assurance throughout all project phases.
  • Evaluate proposals and qualifications, and oversee the preparation of project scopes and budgets.
  • Act as a representative for clients in various meetings.
  • Advocate for clients' interests and provide informed recommendations.
  • Facilitate open communication among all stakeholders.
  • Define project requirements, establish budgets, and create timelines.
  • Maintain a risk register and review its status regularly.
  • Develop criteria for selecting design and construction teams, lead negotiations, and coordinate design efforts.
  • Assist with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) requirements for projects.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and conduct project meetings.
  • Review project drawings and specifications.
  • Assess and recommend approval for contractor pricing and change orders.
  • Provide stakeholders with updates on project status and progress.
  • Communicate any claims, risks, or disputes to prevent potential litigation.
  • Contribute to effective financial planning to enhance profitability.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field, along with 5-10 years of experience in managing architectural or engineering consulting projects related to new construction or renovations. A solid understanding of proposal preparation, scope development, and budgeting is essential, along with a proven track record in marketing and presentation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for effective project management. Strong organizational abilities and adaptability to project management software are important. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed are also necessary.

Physical Requirements:

This role may involve various physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment may be moderate to loud, with potential exposure to construction-related hazards.

Work Schedule:

Flexibility in working hours is essential to meet client needs, which may include extended travel to various project locations.
