About the Role:

The Regional Business Development Director will be responsible for driving growth in a defined region by securing new business opportunities at the state and local government levels. This sales professional will be the key leader of their region, building and executing strategies to achieve business objectives. They will work closely with internal and external resources, including solution consultants, channel partners, marketing teams, government relations firms, client success managers, product managers, and executives, to execute on business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed annual quota targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at state and local government agencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to achieve quarterly and annual goals.
  • Provide sales support and guidance to sales professionals in the region.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota targets in the public sector.
  • Relevant experience in sales strategy development, territory planning, prospecting, pipeline building, opportunity execution, competing, negotiating, and closing.
  • An extensive network of contacts in the public sector, including government agencies, technology partners, and consulting firms.
