About the Role

The Applied Materials CTO Director of Marketing & Business Development is a key position that drives strategy and program activities for key growth programs within the company. This role identifies and analyzes market trends, defines business and product strategy, develops program requirements, and develops the project execution plan.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Market Analysis and Strategy: Develop market and economics analysis of industry needs and trends to inform business decisions.
  2. Collaboration and Alliance Development: Identify and develop collaboration and alliance opportunities with key partners, including joint ventures, acquisitions, cooperative development, and technology licenses.
  3. Transaction Structuring and Negotiation: Structure, negotiate, and implement alliance transactions to achieve Applied Materials' objectives within acceptable risk parameters.
  4. Issue Identification and Resolution: Identify issues representing opportunities or threats of strategic importance and develop methodologies to achieve consensus for actions needed.
  5. Project Planning and Execution: Develop a project plan to execute growth opportunities and lead highly visible multidisciplinary project teams or initiatives.
Functional and Business Knowledge
  1. Strategic Marketing Toolbox: Demonstrated strategic marketing toolbox, including market segmentation and analysis, product strategy, value proposition, competitive analysis, and scorecards.
  2. Deep Tech Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of one or more deep tech fields, including advanced materials, advanced manufacturing, photonics, quantum computing, biotechnology, green energy, superconductivity, etc.
  3. Business Acumen: Influences internal and external business and/or regulatory issues that have an impact on the business and provides thought leadership for programs and initiatives.
  4. Communication and Leadership: Strong communication skills and demonstrated program management and strategic leadership abilities.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 7-10 years of experience in the Electronics Industry, technology, marketing, and/or business development roles.
  2. Education: BS (or advanced degree) in science and/or engineering.
  3. MBA: MBA preferred and highly desirable.
  4. Work Permit: US work permit.
