Job Description

Overview

Chandler Asset Management is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Portfolio Manager to join our Portfolio Management Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operational activities of our portfolio managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day assistance to facilitate portfolio management operations, ensuring seamless workflow between the Operations and Portfolio Management teams.
  • Conduct research and assist in trading activities to support Portfolio Managers, staying up-to-date with market trends and conditions.
  • Participate in Portfolio Management committees, contributing insights and expertise to inform investment strategies.
  • Analyze current and forecast future market trends to inform investment strategies, utilizing your knowledge of financial markets and asset management business operations.
  • Act as a liaison between the Operations and Portfolio Management teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support the Portfolio Management process through thorough documentation and research, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Engage in new business development by assisting with the analysis of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.

Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is required.
  • Industry Experience: Some level of experience in asset management or a related industry is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel, database management, and Bloomberg is required for this role.
  • Skills & Knowledge: A strong interest in financial markets and a good understanding of asset management business operations and processes are necessary for success in this position.
  • Market Understanding: Experience in capital market credit analysis is highly beneficial.
  • Communication Skills: Strong analytical acumen coupled with excellent communication and writing skills is necessary for effective performance in this position.
  • Additional Qualifications: Progress toward CFA or other relevant financial certifications would be advantageous, as would demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
