Role Overview

The Junior Portfolio Management Associate is a vital support position within the Portfolio Management Team, assisting in the daily operational functions. This role requires substantial interaction with portfolio managers, serving as a critical bridge between the Operations and Portfolio Management teams, especially concerning trade execution processes. Furthermore, the Junior Portfolio Management Associate is expected to engage in various committees and remain informed about market dynamics to effectively contribute to the team's goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations of portfolio management.
  • Conduct research and support trading activities for Portfolio Managers.
  • Engage in Portfolio Management committees, offering insights and expertise.
  • Analyze current and predict future market trends to guide investment strategies.
  • Facilitate communication between the Operations and Portfolio Management teams to ensure efficient workflows.
  • Support the Portfolio Management process through meticulous documentation and research.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives by aiding in the analysis of Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Industry Experience: Relevant experience in asset management or a similar field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, database management, and Bloomberg is essential.
  • Knowledge & Skills: A strong interest in financial markets and a solid understanding of asset management operations are necessary.
  • Market Insight: Experience in capital market credit analysis is highly advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Strong analytical abilities along with excellent communication and writing skills are crucial for success in this role.
  • Additional Qualifications: Progress toward CFA or other relevant financial certifications is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
