What's the job all about?

The Operations Associate ensures smooth and efficient operations within our local government investment pool (LGIP) platforms. This role is pivotal in managing various operational facets such as trade processing, settlement, and accurate reporting. The Operations Associate will work to support internal staff including portfolio managers, portfolio strategists and other operations team members, providing them with timely solutions and maintaining the highest standards of service to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty. By directly contributing to the operational integrity of the company, the Operations Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for excellence and reliability in the marketplace.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Serve as a resource to internal Chandler staff and solve operational issues that may emerge with respect to accounting, wires and trade settlement with the custodian. .Execute data entry tasks with precision for portfolio accounting purposes, guaranteeing that all financial information is accurately captured and reflected in our systems.Undertake the documentation of existing operational processes under established guidelines, contributing to the creation of a comprehensive procedural manual that enhances operational clarity and efficiency.Engage enthusiastically in role-specific training programs, which are designed to enhance knowledge and skills pertinent to the operations of the LGIP platform, thereby ensuring continuous professional development and performance improvement.Assist in automating the daily account reconciliation process, ensuring that all accounts are accurately balanced and discrepancies are promptly addressed.Support the trade settlement process by facilitating the efficient and timely settlement of trades.Learn the operational details of software and systems to efficiently manage the flow of funds in the LGIP platform.Generate reports to assist with the portfolio management process.Learn the linkage between the LGIP website and the investment portal. Update required information on a daily basis to the LGIP website utilizing operational software tools.Contribute to team projects by collaborating with colleagues and proactively approach operational challenges and initiatives, thereby fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.Perform various assignments that may range in complexity, always with a focus on supporting the retail platform's needs, and ensuring that operational tasks are carried out with a high standard of excellence.

This Team Member will have:Education: Bachelor's degree required.Industry Experience: 1-2 years of experience in investment operations and/or portfolio accounting preferred.Technical Proficiency: Basic familiarity with Bloomberg is necessary. Proficiency in basic Excel functionalities is required and Microsoft Office. Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.Analytical Skills: Candidates must possess basic analytical skills.Software Proficiency: A demonstrated ability to learn and understand Chandler's vendor platforms and software applications is crucial. Experience with Linedata or other platforms with similar accounting and transfer agency tools is highly desirable.
