Role Overview

The Junior Portfolio Management Associate is an integral member of the Portfolio Management Team, providing essential support for daily operational tasks. This role requires extensive collaboration with portfolio managers, serving as a vital link between the Operations and Portfolio Management divisions, particularly concerning trade execution. Furthermore, the Junior Portfolio Management Associate will engage in various committees and remain informed about market dynamics to effectively contribute to the team's goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations of portfolio management.
  • Conduct research and support trading activities for Portfolio Managers.
  • Participate in Portfolio Management committees, offering insights and expertise.
  • Analyze current and predict future market trends to guide investment strategies.
  • Facilitate communication between the Operations and Portfolio Management teams to ensure seamless workflows.
  • Support the Portfolio Management process through meticulous documentation and research.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives by assisting with the analysis of Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Industry Experience: Some experience in asset management or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, database management, and Bloomberg is essential.
  • Knowledge & Skills: A strong interest in financial markets and a solid understanding of asset management operations are necessary.
  • Market Insight: Experience in capital market credit analysis is highly advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Strong analytical abilities combined with excellent communication and writing skills are crucial for success in this role.
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Progress toward CFA or other relevant financial certifications is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
