CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER
Homes for the Homeless is dedicated to providing shelter and support for families facing homelessness in New York City. Our family residences serve as more than just temporary accommodations; they offer a range of onsite programs designed to empower families and positively influence their futures. We are in search of a seasoned professional to take on the role of Chief Human Resources Officer.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Executive Director, this position will oversee the Human Resources Department, managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle from recruitment through to separation, while ensuring adherence to applicable laws, policies, and organizational procedures.


The ideal candidate will be a transformative leader capable of instigating and implementing change within the Human Resources Department. Through effective training and innovative initiatives, you will cultivate a culture of engagement throughout the organization.

This role will involve close collaboration with Executive and Senior Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, which includes recruitment, onboarding, training, employee benefits, compliance with employment laws, performance management, and separation.


Lead a team of 5 to 6 HR professionals, including an HR Manager, Recruiter, HR Associates, and a Training and Staff Engagement Coordinator.

Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and city employment regulations.

Uphold agency policies and procedures while contributing to their development and implementation.


Manage the position control roster to ensure hiring aligns with budgetary constraints while fulfilling the staffing requirements of various programs and departments.

Work closely with Executive and Senior Management to identify the agency's hiring, training, and employee engagement needs.

Develop and implement best practices for recruitment, employee retention, and talent management.


Act as a liaison with our HRIS system (currently ADP) to maximize its capabilities, enhance reporting and analytics, and streamline human resources processes.


QUALIFICATIONS
A college degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and propose effective solutions.

Creative thinking and a big-picture perspective are essential.

Strong interpersonal skills with a flexible and positive attitude.

Excellent written, verbal, and analytical abilities.

Proficient in HRIS systems, with a preference for ADP Workforce Now.

Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

$105,000 - $110,000
