Salary: $50,000 - $55,000

The Bowery Mission (TBM) is a comprehensive, faith-driven organization dedicated to assisting individuals facing homelessness, hunger, and poverty since the 1870s. The Human Resources division is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to support over 130 team members across various locations.

As an essential part of the HR Team, the Human Resources Coordinator will deliver administrative and project support to enhance the organization's recruitment, hiring, development, and employee support initiatives, aligning with TBM's mission to serve those in need.

The Coordinator will be entrusted with handling sensitive information and must exhibit sound judgment. Responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of administrative tasks to bolster the organization's hiring, training, and employee engagement efforts. This role will also involve maintaining records and providing comprehensive support to the entire HR Team.

Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Combination of in-office and remote work)

Key Responsibilities:Recruitment
  • Advertise job openings on various recruitment platforms, conduct research, and recommend potential applicant sources while facilitating communication between candidates and screening vendors.
  • Coordinate interview schedules for hiring managers.
Training & Event Coordination
  • Assist in organizing employee training sessions and meetings, including logistics and maintaining training records.
  • Collaborate with different teams to identify and address training needs.
  • Manage the organization's LinkedIn Learning platform.
Onboarding & Offboarding
  • Initiate the onboarding process for new hires and collaborate with hiring managers to ensure effective integration.
  • Ensure timely processing of all new hire documentation.
  • Oversee administrative tasks for departing employees to guarantee proper offboarding.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of over 60 seasonal hires for summer programs.
Administrative Support & Projects:
  • Manage various administrative tasks for the HR Team, including overseeing the HR email inbox.
  • Support organization-wide events and communications by preparing presentation materials, coordinating schedules, and sending calendar invitations.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Chief Human Resources Officer, including expense reporting and meeting scheduling.
Qualifications:
  • Commitment to the organization's Statement of Faith.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and advancing in the Human Resources field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Exceptional communication skills, particularly in writing, along with professionalism in presentations and correspondence.
  • Collaborative mindset, prioritizing team success.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service abilities.
  • Proactive in identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven experience in handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with HRIS and ATS systems.
  • Background in non-profit organizations.
  • Prior administrative experience in a Human Resources capacity.
