POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Robotics Field Service Specialist to become a vital part of our team within the Humanoid product ecosystem.

As a Robotics Field Service Specialist at Apptronik, your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the daily operations of robotic systems, performing repairs, conducting maintenance, and managing spare parts at both Apptronik and client locations.

This position emphasizes maintaining optimal uptime of robotic systems, documenting performance metrics, monitoring fleet reliability, and providing training to fellow team members.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, offering insights on system implementation, design enhancements, and integration with various technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report daily operational status of robots and associated equipment at both Apptronik and client sites.

• Execute all tasks related to system initialization, troubleshooting, urgent service, preventive maintenance, and spare parts management.

• Document processes, create work instructions, user manuals, troubleshooting guides, knowledgebase articles, FAQs, training plans, and any other materials necessary to maximize system uptime.

• Generate status reports, dashboards, Pareto charts, and other analyses to present key performance indicators.

• Record and document system performance, issues encountered, and suggestions for enhancements.

• Travel to client locations as required to perform system repairs, maintenance, and training sessions.

• Assist in the integration of fleet management platforms with client warehouse management systems (WMS), warehouse execution systems (WES), and manufacturing execution systems (MES) to facilitate deployment in client facilities.

• Define requirements, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely customer support in close collaboration with systems engineering and product management.

• Advocate for best practices in customer support, ensuring high standards of field service, scalability, and reliability.

• Work alongside product, project, and engineering teams to support the design and implementation of scalable and resilient systems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• Proven experience managing all aspects of spare parts, repairs, and maintenance on early-stage products.

• Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments at client facilities while adhering to strict service level agreements (SLAs).

• Comprehensive understanding of automation equipment, fleet management systems, IoT, and related technologies.

• Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present to senior leadership and client representatives.

• Ability to drive change, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Capability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.

• Collaboration with product and engineering teams on Design for Serviceability analyses.

• Willingness to travel internationally; a valid passport is highly desired.

• Up to 50% travel may be necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, robotics, computer science, etc.).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in servicing and maintaining complex electro-mechanical systems (experience in robotics and automation is a plus).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role.

• Familiarity with command line interfaces on PC systems.

• Experience with software systems, particularly Linux, R-Viz, Plot Juggler, and ROS.

• Familiarity with Jira Service Management for issue tracking and reporting.

• Experience in deploying and integrating cloud-based platforms with warehouse and manufacturing management systems is highly desirable.

• Experience with soldering (through-hole and surface mount) is a plus.

• Experience in training others (both company and client personnel) is advantageous.

• Experience operating in a virtual reality environment is a plus.

• Familiarity with Unity or other gaming engines and SteamVR is a plus.
