General Overview

The University of Texas at Austin is in search of a meticulous and innovative Senior Coordinator for Robotics Events. This role is essential for Texas Robotics, an interdisciplinary consortium comprising 16 leading faculty members from various engineering and computer science disciplines. The consortium's research spans diverse fields, including surgical robotics, personal assistance robotics, automated driving, and more. Texas Robotics is actively expanding its undergraduate offerings and community engagement initiatives.

Role Purpose

To orchestrate and manage both small and large-scale events, serving as the primary contact for all Texas Robotics-related visits and tours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Management: Plan and execute a variety of events, both on-campus and off-site. Act as the main point of contact for visits, tours, demonstration requests, and outreach initiatives. Develop detailed timelines and logistics plans to ensure successful event execution.
  • Administrative Duties: Handle general administrative tasks, including procurement of supplies, processing payments, and maintaining event management systems. Monitor budgets and track attendance for reporting purposes.
  • Vendor Relations: Act as the primary liaison between Texas Robotics and external partners, ensuring smooth coordination and communication regarding contracts and services.
  • Team Supervision: Oversee student employees involved in event planning and administrative tasks, providing guidance and feedback to foster their development.
  • Additional Tasks: Undertake other related responsibilities as assigned, which may not be explicitly outlined in this description.
Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree is required. Candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically. Flexibility and adaptability are essential in this evolving environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email/calendar applications is necessary.

Relevant education and experience may be considered as substitutes.

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field is preferred, along with 2-3 years of experience in event planning or higher education.

Salary Range

$62,000 + based on qualifications
