Engineering Manager for Manufacturing Operations

Company Overview: Acara Solutions, an Aleron Company, has been a trusted partner for aerospace organizations across the nation for over six decades. We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the role of Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our client’s facility.

Position Summary: This role is a direct hire opportunity with a competitive salary range of $130K - $140K, along with performance-based bonuses. The position requires onsite presence in a dynamic aerospace CNC metal machining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of manufacturing process innovation, assembly, testing procedures, tool design, and implementation of Statistical Process Control.
  • Ensure timely and precise completion of project objectives through effective resource coordination and adherence to company policies and customer specifications.
  • Lead initiatives for process enhancement, reduction of setup times, and development of visual standard work to meet cost efficiency and productivity targets.
  • Facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen activities to align with organizational goals.
  • Assess and authorize all engineering requests for development work, ensuring feasibility and prioritization of tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize manufacturing costs for new or modified products, considering labor, materials, and tooling.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, monitoring expenses to remain within allocated limits.
  • Direct the evaluation and acquisition of capital equipment necessary for operations.
  • Support the introduction of new products for all internally manufactured components, actively participating in Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to all assigned personnel, ensuring compliance with company policies and operational standards.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of manufacturing engineering experience, particularly in CNC machining. While supervisory experience is preferred, candidates with substantial CNC machine shop expertise without direct management experience will also be considered.

Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in LEAN/Continuous Improvement methodologies, as well as comprehensive knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality assurance, and cost management techniques. A minimum of three years of experience in a metal machining environment, particularly within the aerospace sector, is required.
