Arlo Washington D.C. stands out as a distinctive establishment that merges historical elegance with contemporary comforts. The hotel boasts a rooftop lounge and pool, a dining venue, a café, and a serene interior courtyard. Strategically situated, it serves as an ideal hub for both leisure and corporate visitors.

The Assistant Director of Engineering will collaborate closely with the Director of Engineering to manage the upkeep of the hotel's infrastructure and systems. Key responsibilities encompass developing preventive maintenance strategies, ensuring a secure working environment, and engaging in the hotel's Safety Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing courteous and respectful service to guests
  • Supervising the Engineering Department and Life Safety components of the facility
  • Facilitating effective communication among staff
  • Inspiring and nurturing team members
  • Establishing preventive maintenance protocols
  • Guaranteeing a safe working environment
  • Participating in the Safety Program
Specific Duties:
  • Encouraging team members to deliver exceptional service
  • Ensuring operational effectiveness and dependability
  • Supporting the hotel operations team
  • Selecting, mentoring, and leading Engineering personnel
  • Collaborating with development and construction teams
  • Overseeing building systems and maintenance
  • Managing minor repairs throughout the property
  • Implementing the preventive maintenance program
  • Contributing to the hotel's culture and ambiance

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in building maintenance
  • Prior experience in hotel maintenance is essential
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Programming
  • Proficient in English
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs
