Production Manager

Key Responsibilities of the Production Manager:

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of the production division.
  • Establish and prioritize production schedules while effectively communicating objectives to relevant departments.
  • Analyze equipment performance, material supply, and workforce needs to optimize operations.
  • Ensure product quality control standards are met consistently.
  • Manage, mentor, and supervise department supervisors, shift leaders, and production staff.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collect, verify, and report daily, weekly, and monthly production metrics.
  • Schedule production and indirect personnel as instructed by the Plant Manager.
  • Track and report on vacation and attendance in coordination with the Operations Coordinator.
  • Gather and report environmental data on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis (e.g., water and air quality).
  • Generate and maintain accurate production and inventory reports for management and sales teams.
  • Implement corrective action policies, conduct employee performance evaluations, and manage training schedules as necessary.
  • Recruit and assess potential new hires.

Safety, Inspections, and Maintenance:

  • Maintain comprehensive inventory tracking for parts, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels to support efficient facility operations.
  • Oversee the execution of all quality control standard operating procedures, including the PFI Standards Program.
  • Ensure the safe operation of the facility while coordinating safety programs.
  • Manage the plant-level safety program, including compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Education for the Production Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Management or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting is ideal.
  • Possess a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and forward-thinking capabilities. This role demands both operational involvement and strategic insight.
  • Technical and analytical skills are essential, including the ability to perform basic to complex mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work in environments with high temperatures and humidity.
