Our esteemed client, a longstanding player in the aerospace sector, is seeking a qualified professional for the role of Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Position Summary: This role is a direct hire opportunity with a competitive salary range of $130K - $140K, complemented by a performance-based bonus. The position is structured for a Monday to Friday schedule, commencing at 7:00 AM, and requires the candidate to work onsite.

Location: The role is situated at the client’s facility in the Sacramento region, specifically in Auburn, CA. Candidates must be prepared to relocate, with relocation assistance available.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of manufacturing process development, assembly, testing procedures, tool design, and fabrication, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer specifications.
  • Implement process enhancements, reduce setup times, and develop visual standard work to achieve objectives related to cost efficiency, productivity, and lead time reduction.
  • Lead initiatives such as Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events to align with organizational goals.
  • Assess and authorize all engineering requests for development, ensuring feasibility and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing costs for new or modified products, considering labor, materials, and tooling.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring the Manufacturing Engineering function operates within financial constraints.
  • Evaluate and justify capital equipment investments for operational efficiency.
  • Support the introduction of new products, actively participating in Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities.
  • Guide and direct assigned personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and operational standards.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically within a CNC machining environment.

While supervisory experience is preferred, candidates with substantial CNC machine shop expertise without direct management experience will also be considered. A strong understanding of LEAN/Continuous Improvement methodologies, production processes, quality assurance, and cost management is essential.

Additionally, candidates should have at least three years of experience in a metal machining environment, ideally within the aerospace sector, with exposure to steel and aluminum castings.

This position is within an aerospace ITAR facility, and therefore, U.S. Persons are required.
