Position Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000

Location: Manchester, Iowa

Core Responsibilities:

The primary objective of this role is to support adherence to regulatory standards, conduct risk evaluations, provide EHS training, investigate incidents, and perform site audits throughout the manufacturing facility.

Key Duties:

  • Oversee the safety initiative to enhance awareness of health, safety, and industrial hygiene.
  • Facilitate annual training sessions for employees on OSHA standards and safe work practices.
  • Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) across departments and maintain a central repository.
  • Conduct safety orientation for new hires.
  • Keep training documentation up to date for compliance with regulations.
  • Design and execute a plan for the facility's industrial hygiene strategy in line with corporate policies.
  • Identify and assess hazardous conditions or actions within the plant and propose corrective actions.
  • Review, authorize, and draft Risk Assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health, industrial hygiene, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the EHS domain or a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Possession of CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or a similar certification is required.
