About the Opportunity

StaffBright is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This role is with a dynamic supplier that is actively expanding its operations and workforce. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in the automotive sector, particularly those who possess a robust background in pre-production planning. The preferred candidate will have familiarity with tire and wheel components in an automotive context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Innovation: Develop, document, and implement assembly processes and protocols for the organization’s products.
  • Project Engagement: Engage in projects from initial sourcing through the standard operating procedure (SOP) phase and beyond for corporate staff, or through end-of-production (EOP) for plant personnel.
  • Strategic Planning: Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned projects, ensuring they align with organizational objectives.
  • Financial Oversight: Create and monitor capital investment budgets for designated projects.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee, manage, and communicate timelines and outstanding issues related to capital equipment with the program team.
  • Specifications Development: Prepare all requests for quotations (RFQs) and equipment specifications for capital, tooling needs, and contract services prior to SOP.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison with machining, automation, and capital equipment suppliers.
  • Production Process Oversight: Supervise the development and finalization of production processes, including work cell design, ergonomic workstation configuration, and line balancing.
  • Documentation Creation: Generate prototype and production process documentation through SOP +90 days, including Process Flow, Cycle Time Analysis, PFMEA, and Work Instructions.
  • Facility Layout & PFEP: Design initial plant floor layouts and Plan for Every Part (PFEP), focusing on material flow and storage solutions.
  • Material Handling Solutions: Acquire and implement line-side material presentation and handling systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with tire and wheel components, particularly chassis or brake components.
  • Strong understanding of Manual and Automated Assembly Systems and Technologies, encompassing both mechanical and control systems.
