About the Role
StaffBright is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This role is positioned within a dynamic supplier that is currently enhancing its operations and workforce. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of experience in the automotive sector, particularly those who possess a robust background in pre-production planning. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with tire and wheel components in an automotive context.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Innovation: Develop, document, and implement assembly processes and procedures for the organization’s products.
- Project Engagement: Engage in projects from initial sourcing through the post-start of production phase for corporate employees, or through end of production for plant personnel.
- Strategic Planning: Plan, coordinate, and execute assigned projects, ensuring they align with organizational objectives.
- Financial Oversight: Create and monitor capital investment budgets for designated projects.
- Equipment Management: Oversee and communicate the timing plan and outstanding issues related to capital equipment to the program team.
- Specifications Development: Generate all RFQs and equipment specifications for capital, tooling needs, and contract services prior to the start of production.
- Vendor Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison with machining, automation, and capital equipment suppliers.
- Production Process Oversight: Supervise the development and final approval of production processes, including work cell layouts, ergonomic workstation designs, and line balancing.
- Documentation Creation: Develop documentation for prototype and production processes through the post-start of production phase, including Process Flow, Cycle Time Analysis, PFMEA, and Work Instructions.
- Facility Layout & PFEP: Design initial plant floor layouts and PFEP, focusing on material flow and storage.
- Material Handling Solutions: Procure and implement line-side material presentation and handling systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Experience with tire and wheel components, ideally chassis or brake components.
- Strong understanding of Manual and Automated Assembly Systems and Technologies, encompassing both mechanical and control systems.
